Today was a historic one for Arran St Molios Royal Arch Chapter 893. Not only does tomorrow mark the one-year anniversary of the chapter’s consecration, but the chapter conferred its first Excellent Master’s degree on Brother Alec Roberts.
The ME First Principal opened the Chapter and then adjourned it to open a Mark Lodge within the Chapter in order to affiliate Alec to the Mark Lodge. I have to admit that I find the system rather confusing. Alex got his Mark Master Mason’s Degree from Lodge Arran St Molios No 774, but to get his Excellent Master’s Degree, he first had to affiliate to the Mark Lodge within the Chapter.
The floor workers had been practising their work and it showed in the execution of the degree. They also got to break out the brand new regalia for the office bearers, a rare treat for any brother or companion.
We had in our midst two senior office bearers from the Provincial Grand Royal Arch Chapter, headed by the Provincial Grand Superintendent, MEC John Hacket. John was our ME First Principal during our inaugural year and was a tremendous help in getting us up and running.
