Lodge St Molios enjoyed beautiful sunshine on Saturday, 9 April, for our annual visitation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Argyll & the Isles.
Derek Fleming was our candidate to be passed to the Fellow Craft degree and he enjoyed the day. It was one of our busiest meetings, with some 80-odd brothers signing the book, and it made the day all the more enjoyable.
The degree team was as follows:
- Signs & Secrets: Alan Campbell, SD
- Badge: Chris Stirland, WJW
- Working Tools: John McDonald PM, DoC
- Tracing Board Lecture: Chris Stirland, WSW
- Charge: John Murchie, WJW
The day was made even more special by a presentation to our secretary and present Depute Provincial Grand Master, Donald Bannatyne, of Grand Honorary Rank of Grand Senior Deacon, a testament to his dedication to Freemasonry. But what Brother Donald didn’t know was that he was to be presented with a Distinguished Service Diploma by Lodge 774 to mark his dedication to our own Lodge. Brother Donald received these awards humbly and with gratitude. The former was presented by the Provincial Grand Master himself, Brother Kenneth Johnson, and the Distinguished Service Diploma by past master Brother Donald McNiven.
At the closing of the lodge, Brother Robert Boxon Jr of Capital Lodge No 54 in the state of Wyoming presented our RWM with a lapel pin of a bucking pony and a commemorative coin from his lodge in the USA.
