Our Royal Arch Chapter performed an exemplification of an Excellent Master degree on Saturday 28 June 2014. We were blessed with fantastic weather and that brought over a large number of visitors, including Alan Brown of Saltcoats & Ardrossan Royal Arch Chapter No 223; he gracefully agreed to be our candidate for the degree. Thanks Alan!
The team was as follows:
- John Corbett – 1st Principal
- Donald Galbraith – 2nd Principal and RW&EM
- James Nichols – 3rd Principal and RWMM
- Alan Campbell – 1st Sojourner
- Andrew Martin – Captain of the 3rd Veil
- Bill Farrington – Captain of the 1st Veil
- Alex Greenhorn – Captain of the 2nd Veil
- Donald Bannatyne – Scribe E
Thanks were extended to Bill Farrington, Andrew Martin and Murray Hunter for filling in the vacant offices for the degree.
After the ceremony was completed, MEC George Paul gave a very interesting talk on masonic symbolism as depicted in a deck of playing cards.
It was a most enjoyable afternoon and particularly nice to have such a large number of visitors. We hope to be able to reciprocate very soon!
