A moment’s silence was observed for these brethren.
Master’s Annual Report
The following report was presented by the master of the lodge, Brother John Murchie:
“Brethren there is not a lot to report as we have been shut down for the last 20 months!
Sadly, we have lost a few brethren as I intimated earlier.
I have had no lodge visits yet to report on.
The main thing that has happened is the work carried out on the lodge building during last summer! The outside front was stripped back, wood rot was replaced, insulation was installed, and composite board cladding was fitted. This contract was undertaken by Bro Tim Keen, with help from some of the Past Masters.
The rest of the outside was washed and painted.
Bro. Bill McNicol kindly installed the new gutters for us.
We then attacked the inside lodge room where insulation was installed; the walls were then relined and painted; and I have to say that Lodge St Molios owes a great debt of gratitude to Bro. Graeme Davidson, who was here just about every day for 4 to 5 hours during all the work.
Thanks must go to Bro. Andy Perrie, who installed the new lights and heaters.
The new floor was installed thanks to Bro. Tim Wilkinson and his assistant David Morrison, who have done a splendid job.
Now all this work was assisted by Brethren in the Lodge! most notably Donald Bannatyne, Allan Coutts, Donald Galbraith, Donald McKay, John Corbett, Chris Stirland and others that came along when they had time! To all of you that came along and helped, I say thank you very much for a job well done. I can safely say that we have a lodge to be proud of.
I would like to thank our worthy and hard-working secretary, Bro. Andy Martin, who helps me no end, and Bro. Andy Perrie, our treasurer – they both do jobs that none of us want.
Finally, this has been a strange 20 months with COVID restrictions and I was looking forward to coming out of all this social distancing and mask-wearing, but sadly it seems to be coming back to haunt us again with this Omicron variant. I hope that whatever new restrictions may be introduced, it will not keep us from holding meetings for the rest of the season.
Thank you, Brethren, for all your patience and support.”
